MPNFL: Midfield star bolsters Eagles

CRANBOURNE unveiled another star in its 93-point victory over Berwick in MPNFL Casey Cardinia League action at Edwin Flack Reserve on Saturday.

Ex-Fremantle player Justin Bollenhagen was rushed into the Eagles' line-up after lodging a clearance before the June 30 deadline.

Bollenhagen was playing with South Adelaide in the SANFL but recently relocated to Cranbourne and fell into the Eagles' lap.

The midfield ace has added an extra element to the Eagles' depth and he made a strong debut, booting two goals for Doug Koop's team.

Wickers ace Nathan Waite booted five goals but they struggled to combat the Eagles' star-studded outfit.

Full forward Marc Holt booted nine goals and Justin Berry was at his imperial best with four goals and a hand in many.

In other games, Narre Warren fought off a determined Beaconsfield by 26points at Kalora Park on Saturday.

The Magpies trailed the Eagles by two points at the first change but took charge to take a seven-point margin into the long change.

Kerem Baskaya kicked four majors and Michael Collins won a mountain of possession.

Beaconsfield had a number of honest soldiers, including Dan Mislicki and Rob Taylor, and Dan Battaglin was a brick wall in defence.

Doveton embarrassed Hampton Park by 229 points, the Doves booting an 38.22 (250) to the hapless Redbacks' 3.3 (21). Ryan Hendy slotted seven majors and Kevin McLean booted six goals for the victors.

Pakenham had a 19-point victory over ROC in a morale-boosting win for the struggling club. Matt Clarke was outstanding with seven goals.

Tooradin-Dalmore defeated Keysborough by 57 points, with Scott Szucs best on ground.
