MPNFL: Devon Meadows Panthers move

19 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
DEVON Meadows has been given the green light to join the MPNFL Nepean League.

The Panthers applied a fortnight ago to leave the Casey Cardinia League and join the Nepean League after struggling to compete with the bigger clubs such as Cranbourne and Pakenham.

The Nepean League clubs blocked the move last month but the MPNFL board used its discretionary powers to allow the switch.

Switching divisions means the bye is eliminated in the Casey Cardinia and Nepean leagues from next season.

The Panthers will be coached by Brent Clinnick next season.
