Eagles trump Wickers

11 May, 2009 01:34 PM
THE Cranbourne Youth Girls Football team has added another important scalp to its collection by defeating last year's grand finalist Berwick on Saturday.

The Eagles won 2.10(22) to 2.4(16) despite their inaccuracy in front of goals, said coach Graham Conder.

"Other than our kicking, it was a great win for the girls. We had heaps of the ball but just couldn't put the score on the board. To have only lost one game at this stage of the year is a real credit to the girls."

Kirsten McLeod and Jessica Wallace were the goal kickers. New recruit Emily Wallace continued to showcase her improved skills and was the Eagles' best. The Eagles will look to continue their winning ways against Noble Park on Saturday.Jack Heverin
