16 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
DANDENONG District Cricket Association junior sides ended their respective Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union competitions last week with a few less wins than hoped but all sides took away invaluable experience from their toils.

The under-12 side took one win and one draw from its Keith Mitchell Shield campaign, the under-14 side had one win in the Russell Allen Shield, and the under-16 side was unable to score a win in the Jim Beitzel Shield.

Wess Fernandez led the under-16s in runs with 106 at 26 while Ben de Koning was best bowler with five wickets at eight.

Callum Sigaras was the best of the under-14s with the bat, making 117 runs at 23. Jevon Fernando led the way with the ball, taking five wickets at 24.

Shyam Srninivas was leading run-scorer for the under-12s with 104 runs at 20.

Riley Shaw took six wickets at 25.
