Playing in neutral territory down in Traralgon, the Rangers got off to a strong start and looked sharp under the basket, posting an 18-15 lead by the first change on the back of some strong work by American import Ashley Lindsey.

By halfway through the second period, Bulleen had hit the front and from there the result was never in doubt.

The Rangers kept pace after the break, but foul troubles for Lindsey and fellow American Casey Nash took their toll as Elizabeth Cambage, Desi Glaubitz and Rachel Jarry started to take control.

With the game in hand, the Boomers upped the tempo down the stretch, forcing the Rangers into mistakes and pressure shots.

The destiny for both teams this season looks clear - the Boomers are championship quality, while the Rangers will continue to battle away in the lower third of the ladder.

Giant teenager Cambage dominated against her former club, nailing 24 points at 71 per cent and hauling in 10 rebounds to lead Bulleen to its 13th win of the season. Others to stand out for the Boomers included Glaubitz (17 points) and Sharin Milner (14), while Jarry chipped in with 11 rebounds.

Only Lindsey (12 points) and Alison Downie (10 points) pushed into double figures for the Rangers.

The team faces a crucial double-header this weekend in the nation's capital, where they'll face Lauren Jackson's Canberra on Friday night, followed by a must-win game against the AIS on Saturday.
