Man escapes injury as branch hits car

06 Feb, 2012 04:26 PM

A MAN escaped injury during a fierce wind storm in Hampton Park yesterday afternoon when a large branch crashed onto the roof of his car.

The man, 50, was at the intersection of Pound and Shrive roads when the branch fell about 2.30.

Paramedics attended but said he was uninjured, although the car roof was badly dented.

Narre Warren SES answered 56 calls for help in the City Casey during and after the storm.

A spokeswoman said most were to do with fallen trees, of which about 20 obstructed roads.

The SES cleared most of the damage by early Monday afternoon.
