Casey residents need permit for fires

06 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
Residents require a permit to light open-air fires following the official start of the fire danger period for Casey and surrounding municipalities and shires.

A written permit from the CFA or municipal fire officer is required to burn off grass, undergrowth, weeds or other vegetation.

Residents can light barbecues in a properly constructed fireplace.
