HOUSEHOLDS and businesses across Casey have been invited to join a bulk buying scheme to save money on their gas and electricity bills.
Beaconsfield Progress Association has signed off on a community group buying scheme with energy retailer AGL and its subsidiary Powerdirect.
Association spokesman Angelo D'Amelio said the deal was being offered to all residents of Casey and Cardinia. More than 1000 householders had joined the scheme, far exceeding the association's expectations of about 300 signed-up households when it was first discussed in August.
Four meetings will be held in Pakenham to explain the scheme in the next few weeks.
